We believe some of the best parts of yo-yo happen when people come together to learn, throw, make friends and share what they love.

After nearly 10 years of running our own local yo-yo club, we’ve learned what it takes to start one, keep it going and help it grow.

But there’s one thing we hear far too often: “I wish there was a club near me.”

So we decided to help change that.

Spotlight is helping support local clubs and create more places for people to pick up a yo-yo and connect with other players.

Spotlight Yoyo Clubs meet every week in cities across the country. Show up empty handed. Leave with a trick, a few new friends, and a reason to come back next week.

Why Join a Spotlight Club

No yoyo? No problem. Most clubs keep loaner yoyos on hand for anyone walking in for the first time. No gear required, no experience required.
Never landed a trick? That's the point of showing up. Every club uses a simple Trick Ladder that starts with a basic sleeper and builds one trick at a time. Land it, move to the next one, at whatever pace works for you.
The tricks matter less than the people. A Spotlight club is never only about the yoyo. Members teach each other, cheer each other on, and turn practice nights into pizza nights. Come for the tricks. Stay for the people.
Most clubs cost nothing to join. Bring yourself. That's the entry fee.
It's built to be welcoming. Every club runs on one rule above the rest: be welcoming. No bullying, no exclusion, no drama. Just people who like yoyo, and like each other.
This isn't new. The first Spotlight club started in a driveway in Chandler, Arizona, back in 2017. It's still meeting today, still growing, and it wrote the playbook every other Spotlight club now follows.
